Barack Obama Campaign

featured Projects:

  • Website design

  • LGBT branding

Working first at the DNC and then shifting to the creative, digital launch team for Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign remains one of the highlights of my career. In that incredibly fast paced environment, I learned that to stay ahead I needed to build quickly and to avoid becoming too attached to my designs. If photographing President Obama turns out to be among the most thrilling and humbling experiences in my life, I’m ok with that.

Presidential Campaign 2012

Overview:

Created the launch site for the 2012 campaign. Worked in a small team to develop the logo, brand guidelines and strategy for how the site would first be displayed to the world.

Roles:

Working as an interactive designer I was tasked with developing wireframes, concepts and micro-sites that would ultimately lead to the building and launch of the largest digital campaign in US election history.

Project:

LGBT outreach

Overview:

With LGBT issues gaining momentum the Barack Obama campaign seized the moment by highlighted victories won and progress made by the community. We sought to build new allies from what had largely been an alienated group in elections.

Roles:

Working on the creative team, I volunteered to create many of the original designs and outreach to the LGBT community.  It was incredible. We lifted up so many of the people I love and people just like us all over the country.
